I've run one on carbines in multiple mounts.

My conclusion, for my uses, is that it is best in a support/backup capacity to a fixed powered optic.

If it is run as a primary, I would recommend running it as far rearward as possible. This opens up the small window, and allows the reticule to be picked up somewhat better. Also, I wouldn't run it on anything other than an SBR/entry gun. There are better options for a general purpose weapon, than the RMR.

It doesn't get much more lightweight than the RMR. It's a huge plus, but the FOV issues/blue tint/etc. negate it, in my mind, for a standalone role.

I now look at the RMR's use on a carbine as a backup to a primary.

    YMMV

I have both an RMR06 and the Insight. I have tried a few mounts and either it sits too low for a lower 1/3rd or slightly too high. Mounting both in similar heights that would actually be lower third height blocks sight of the front post. This is because the lens of the minis is so small and the base is relatively quite tall. All other red dots have much more glass below the dot to allow viewing of the post in the lower portion of optic. To get this same picture in my experience the minis must be set slightly lower.

I don't really see how it is possible, and if GDI can truly obtain it, kudos to them. I have my RM06 in the "Troy" co witness mount from ADM currently, and previously in the ADM standard co witness mount which is slightly higher by .35". On the latter, somewhere between the lower 1/2 and lower 1/3 of the rear aperture was blocked by the bottom aluminum of the RMR housing. This is with the Troy sight all the way back and the RMR butted up against it. I truly love the RMR as the dot is much clearer to me than the Pros and Micro Aimpoints I have used, but I do not think that lower 1/3rd co witness can really be obtained.

Is it by chance a Bobro manufactured mount like they do with their branded Acog mounts?
