Same experience, I knew I had mild astigmatism but I thought the red Dot was defective.
Ended up with early onset cataracts, which is a thing. I now have better than 20/20 vision in both eyes and 2 MOA red dots about like 2 moa.
I recognize lens replacement is different than Lasik or similar, but the interaction with red dots should be the same.
I do have to use reading glasses for anything inside of three feet, but impact on shooting is negligible.
