I know it doesn't have all the features you listed (beavertails and steel frame), and its obviously not in the same tier as many of the other models mentioned.

Good news is that with the several hundred to nearly a thousand dollars you might save, you have some budget for upgrades, leather, and brass.

I'm no brand shill or fanboy, but I do own the older version of this model and carry it during the summer months. It's comfortable IWB, not too heavy, shoots well, and has been 100% reliable for me. YMMV. Good luck.
    There you go.

I picked this up used on GunBroker a year and half or so back . . . I think I paid $1750 but it's in great shape. A little out of your price range but deals can be found if you have some patience.

It looks like the gun for you is coming out at SHOT: Colt Wiley Clapp CCO

If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.

That WC CCO might actually get me to buy a non - government model for the first time in my life.
Full disclosure: I'm the editor of Calibre Magazine, which is Canada's gun magazine. In the past I've done consulting work for different manufacturers and OEM suppliers, but not currently. M4C's disclosure policy doesn't seem to cover me but we do have advertisers, although I don't handle that side of things and in general I do not know who is paying us at any given time.

A TRP is not a commander (in recent production) or CCO format pistol.

Whoops...sorry, missed the commander size requirement. However, I believe SA did in fact make a limited number of Commander TRPs.

Stunning piece. Everything you need and nothing you don't. I would prefer a steel frame, but that is me.

If you shop around, you can get a Les Baer Stinger for 1600.
It meets all of your prerequisites.
You will definitely not be disappointed.
