Doesn't quite seem fitting to start a thread on it, but I hit the range after I was done working despite the rain. It was 32 degrees and cold. Got the rifle zeroed close enough to run a target down to the 300 yard mark to shoot a few shots. POA was a little high because I wasn't entirely sure what the rounds would do. They were going pretty much where I told them to. Will shoot more when it's dry out again.

1955 Springfield, 5.5 mil serial number range. Came out of the CMP as a Collector's Grade. Exceptionally accurate, even with basic M2 Ball loads like the Prvi Partizan .30-06 packs. I really, really enjoy this one. I smile every time I get it out.

All National Match parts in 308, Pro-Tech barrel in a Wenig stock. Built by a noted M1 builder, I bought it ‘cheap’ when everyone was clamoring and switching over to the ‘black rifles’. The rifle is also fully bedded and unitized, it shoots < 1 MOA.

Given that 10-shots are a group and 5-shots may be a favorable trend ... know that just one good 3-shot group can make you an instant internet superstar!

A Lend Lease M1 Garand. All correct parts with some Red Paint still around the stock. This belongs to my youngest son.

I have two Lend Lease Garands that I bought when I was a kid.

Amazing find! Someone I met in the reenacting community found one that had been bubba'd with brown and black paint. It included all original parts and he managed to wipe off the paint layer by layer until he got to the original finish.

    1954-55 M1 Used for Reenacting

My M1 is a 5.45 Million serial Springfield that I backdated with reproduction lock bar sights and a milled trigger guard. The M1 bayonet is an original, with a reproduction scabbard, while the M1905 bayonet is a full reproduction. Cartridge belt, canteen, and first aid pouch are original, with the canteen pouch being a reproduction.
