We just sent back an XPS 2-0 that wouldn't zero correctly. After all of the failures I saw in Iraq with the 552's I have a hard time looking at an Eotech. So far my T1's seem to be just fine and I have yet to experience battery issues or anything else.

I have both an EXPS3-0 and T-1. I agree with Dano. The auto shut off is a non-issue to me because I am constantly adjusting both during the day as the light and/or target background change. It's just part of my routine of making ready. That being said, I'm not Mil or LEO. I'm talking about my experience in all day competitions and training events where the sunlight can change throughout the day and the target backgrounds can change (dirt, trees, steel, paper, and etc.), and where I'm constantly making ready before each stage or drill. That being said, I think the autoshutoff can be addressed through training for the Mil and LEO folks if they use the Eotech, and I don't think that is burdensome as there are advantages to both optics.

Not a big priority to me, it sits on my dust magnet (scar16 SBR) in the back of the safe.

You do know if you adjust the brightness it resets the 8 hour shut off time right?

The Aimpoint PRO is such a great combination of performance and cost that I really can't see the value that an extra couple of hundred dollars buys (for a T-1) for those of us that don't go on "missions". On the basis of cost alone, the PRO would be my first choice for my next optic. Having said that, cost aside, I kind of like eotechs better than aimpoints. If it's true that "the mission drives the gear" then the battery life and auto shutoff are absolute non-issues for me. A mere convenience at the very most, given my typical "mission". The rest of you tier 1 operators may very well have different needs.

Does the "Pro" have the NV settings? If not Id have no use for it.

I can't believe that L3 hasn't changed the software to allow the user to deactivate the auto shutoff feature given all the complaints about this feature of the EOTechs. It would seem that would have been easier to do than the redesign on the battery compartment.
