I think its more secure than the Quicksand, but the brake is stupid fat and would look goofy on an AR unless you ran it suppressed all the time. Next week we can take some pics of the brake.

Mark's AR, he can hit steel at 500 with it. 1K, nay

Edit, it's a rem 700 factory barrel, so that makes sense. Might take it to my smith and have him look.

Judging by the brass brand and bullets you cited Im guessing you were shooting 300WM? After getting my brains rattled for 50rds of 77gr H1000 under 208 amaxs I will not be taking it back out til I get it threaded for a brake or when I get my next round of cans in Januaryish. How much is the recoil tamed with the can on the 300WM? My 308 is tamed quite a bit where sending 100rds down range in a couple hours doesn't leave me with a bruised shoulder, Im hoping the ass kicker 300WM will be the same. I don't like shooting without a can anymore these days but I have been underwhelmed with the accuracy Ive gotten out of my yhm ti phantom on my bug hole making 308 that turns into a 1.5" group gun.

The brake on a 300WM will do wonders. I used a double chamber AAC brake on a Rem700 5R factory barrel, it was quite comfortable. The cans did the same. You can thread and brake that barrel and be good to go.

I have the YHM ti phantom qd, its been mounted on three of my guns, a custom Savage, custom Remington and a accuracy international
all three guns will do half inch with the supressor on

    Who threaded your gun?
Is your can the qd or thread on..
    If qd... What mount?

Its a factory 24" 5R and was threaded by a local smith with a good reputation. Mine is the QD version with the muzzle brake, Ive got a flash hider mount Im going to swap on and see what happens. With the 1/2x28 muzzle brake on my 20" AR it shoots 10 shot groups under 1" so something is up. Could be a lot of different things but I just haven't had time to start trouble shooting. Could be the mount, could be the can, could be the thread job. I don't have a known accurate gun with a threaded barrel to swap to, I do have another QD mount that I can try, and by the end of January my griffin armament recce 7 should be released from jail as well as a few others. The threads felt really tight while threading it on like any quality thread job but obviously I have no way of checking bore concentricity. I want to get my 300WM 26" 5R threaded as well but I want to make sure the thread job isn't the root of my issues.
