    Radio GoBag / First Aid

Some one asked about a small radio bag a while back and I'm sure everyone has a need for a first aid bag. I may have stumbled on dual purpose bag.... or perhaps you might see another use for your needs.

I have no idea how to link photos from Flickr. They just look like little thumbnails when I do Also the color is actually Coyote Tan. It looks green in photos but you can see the Maxped bag is OD Green and much darker. It doesn't look green in person. ETA: added color comparison ... looks pretty close to real

Photo1 - Bag with junk thrown in

Photo2 This is what was just thrown in from above photo

Photo3 Here it is packed a little neater and the GoalZero removed (which has to be fit on an angle )

Photo4 here it is with Izzy bandage for size comparison and Maxped FR1 set beside it.

Photo5 Tear away panel on rear, and as seen in the other photos there are 2X Large and 2X small hook and loop retainers. 4X total. Rear panel. Lots of molle loops so it would be easy to attach other things as needed. Plenty room for HT, scanner, several small antennas, reference books, batteries, test gear. Holds quite a bit of stuff. If you use it for radio and have a portable you need to measure first. I think the dimensions they state are about 12x6x7.5

anyway.... might be interesting to some and it's a well made bag currently at a nice price. Some of the loop panels can also be re-purposed to other bags or there is plenty of room for radio gear and first aid in this one bag.

ETA: Sorry I somehow edited out the link to the bag ...... http://lbtinc.com/eoy-2013.html

Does that TV wire become a large antenna?

No it will actually become a small antenna. I just got it in the mail and had it handy to show size of bag. Here is what you can make with it......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7R4C0_dzDZ4 - he sells them on eBay for $25.

Here is the technical data on it.... http://www.dxzone.com/cgi-bin/dir/jump2.cgi?ID=24933 and here are many other links on the design....

I will probably build more than one so it's a lot cheaper to just buy the bulk wire. I suppose you could make a really long antenna out of it for some other frequency but there are most likely other/better ways.

Also here is another small packable design... Now that one, I would probably just buy because I think those traps he has in there have to be cut to very specific lengths ( if it's what I think it is ). At any rate, you can get these on eBay too... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk9kgi__cE0

Cool. I sure wish I could figure out where in the hell my VX-5 went. It's an awesome go-bag radio since it's so small. I miss it.
