My 14.5 Mega arms build. 5.56

A while back I decided I was going to put together a rifle that contained everything I could ever wanted in an AR. It took several months but here it is. Its been done for a few weeks now. I'm really happy with it.

Changed a few things around. I recently upgraded to an SD-E trigger. LOVE IT! also changed my safety from BAD ASS to BAD CASS.

    Upper:
    Mega arms billet
    DD 14.5 CHF 1/7 barrel
    Battlecomp
    Spikes SAR 3
    Arfcom BCG ion bond
    Rainier arms raptor

    Lower:
    Mega ambi billet
    Magpul ubr
    Spikes ST-T2 buffer and spring
    Ergo grip
    Giessele SD-E
    BAD enhanced takedown pins
    norgon ambi mag release
    Battle arms ambi safety

    Sight systems:
    Aimpoint ML3 2 moa w/ bobro lower 1/3
PRI flip ups with blitzkrieg chevron sight post

I'm probably going to change the buttstock for something lighter down the road. She's a little back heavy. As happy as I am with this, I'm ready to do another : )

Thanks guys. I've always been against it but I've been thinking of adding a light set up. We'll see.

Why would you be against a light? Is this a range/daylight only gun?

Well, to be honest, I'm just not sure how to use them in a defensive situation. "Against" was the wrong word. It's more like I'm lacking training or just not ready for that. At this point in time, it might hinder my ability to use my rifle effectively.

There is a ton of open source info on running a light. If you use a carbine for defensive purposes you absolutely need a light because you cannot shoot what you cannot identify. The light also gives an advantage when used properly against an adversary. The most important thing to remember is to make sure that the light is mounted in a way that will be usable and that it's not a light saber.
