I was also thinking about that. Personally, I'd probably just put "AC" on the opposite side of the upper from the BCM logo, matching it as best as possible - subtle.

    Wake,

That's not a bad idea and I think Chuck would like that. Him and I had a pm exchange one day about color and I remember him saying he liked black, gray. Subtle dark colors on ARs. Maybe do the patch in multiple shades of gray.

I never knew the chief but I somehow don't think he would want this to become a commemorative piece done in his honor. I don't know if it is too late swap out the lower but a simple AC1 serial number would have been cool. GH

Custom serial numbers for any manufacturer of any real size is a major pain to deal with - that's why you only see small companies doing it

Also based on the fact BCM donated the gun I think the correct way to go is custom markings after the fact if that is what is desired - and not burden BCM with an additional tasking of doing custom AC markings after they already gave a carbine with a pre production key mod rail

I'm 100% confident AC would agree

It is far from easy. A friend deployed and Colt did a run of custom 1911s with their unit as the serial number prefixes. My jaw hit the floor when I saw the numbers. A custom piece isn't to terribly hard if your ordering quite a few units. Customer serial #'s are a seriously rare step for big companies.
