Thread: Ever seen this before? AAC Roll pin in Bolt not set correctly

    Tagged, I'll have to look at the bolt in my 9" AAC MPW when I get home to see how it's marked. Major bummer if it is indeed a DPMS part at that price point.

    Update: Received replacement bolt from AAC today and the original will go back to AAC today on an RMA so they have it for QC.

    Thank you very much AAC; your prompt response, especially with the weather and prepping for the SHOT show, is very impressive. Now if it will just warm up enough for me to try it out!

    Why would it be a bummer, there's no problem with DPMS bolts if they're made with the right material, which they are, and to the correct specifications, which clearly AAC checks. The burden of proof for DPMS or Bushmaster bolts being inferior lies on you. Pull out some microcalipers and see that it's a perfectly fine bolt.

    DPMS has never had a good name in regards to quality. They are a low budget operation at best. It has been this way for as long as I have been into AR's.
