    Switching from Glock

I shot a friends M&P 45 with apex trigger kit. I chewed the middle of the target out and I couldn't believe that I was shooting that well. I don't have a gun that I shoot that accurately and it got me thinking. If I shoot his gun that well and I could build one just like it should I dump the glocks and go to the M&P.

I seem to do the same thing every time I shoot someone else's gun.

I have heard others have the same thing happen to them.

Most people will unknowingly be much more careful about sight alignment and get a surprise break on the trigger because they aren't used to where the trigger breaks.

Once they get one for themselves and start shooting it for a while, they suddenly don't do so well. Because they aren't focusing on the fundamentals as closely.

I would not dump anything until I got one for myself and shot it for a while to make sure it wasn't just a "someone else's gun" event.

At least try to shoot it several different times and see if it keeps holding true.

Then you'll shoot a PPQ and dump the M&Ps.
Then you'll shoot a CZ and dump the PPQs.

To point out the obvious, make sure you evaluate all of your options before diving head first into one manufacturer (no, it's not a platform).

I've considered dumping Glock based on the G41 release alone. I'm embarrassed to have praised them for so long and a .380 was what they came up with as a thanks. No thanks.

I didn't dump Glocks completely, but started with an M&P 45 and now carry an M&P 9 FS. I much prefer the grip angle and design, as well as the smooth faced trigger of the M&P over the Glock. I still carry a 26 as a BUG, but would rather be putting rounds down range thru the Smith.

They are a business - the Lcp and bg380 have been the best selling handguns for the past few years - they are just following the pack and I bet will make a KILLING.

Don't forget, we are the minority in the firearms community - most will be happy w a 380 pocket pistol and a dpms ar.

Do I wish they made a single stack 9mm shield killer? Absolutely, but still can't ever imagine relacing my 26 for EDC.

I have purchased several new guns that I was unfamiliar with (aside from some in-store dry fire) and have never found my self becoming less proficient the more I shot it. This statement goes against all conventional wisdom, the more you shoot it the less accurate you'll be!?!? Maybe you just aren't taking your range time serious enough.
