    McDonalds = Weight Loss

    At least for this science teacher. He simply made smart choices (tracked cals and macros) and started getting some exercise, and lost weight. It's not rocket science. Although I do NOT recommend getting most of their food from fast food places such as McDonalds beyond the occasional treat, he does a great job of showing - and stating - McDonalds does not make people fat, choices people make does.

    Losing weight doesn't always mean getting more healthy.

    That is true, but the indicators he tested did improve also. Ergo, why I said I wouldn't personally recommend it as a long term strategy, but it does show very clearly that choices people make are the major factor, even when eating at McDonalds.

    I love people who do this kind of thing.

    Calorie deficit = weight loss, 99% of the time.

    It's not rocket science.
    Full disclosure: I'm the editor of Calibre Magazine, which is Canada's gun magazine. In the past I've done consulting work for different manufacturers and OEM suppliers, but not currently. M4C's disclosure policy doesn't seem to cover me but we do have advertisers, although I don't handle that side of things and in general I do not know who is paying us at any given time.

    How true indeed. There's a booklet given me by one of the PharmDs for me to use as a guide if I had to go fast food. It was one of those that displayed the menus of practically all of the fast food restaurants here in the USA, and disciplining oneself to make the smart choice as to what to eat. As stated above, it's not for long term use as an excuse to eating healthy.

    How do you define "eating healthy"? Is it the way the food is processed, the way it's cooked, the way its grown, or the amount and type of fat/protein/CHO in any given meal? IMHO, "eating healthy" is almost entirely about the latter.

    Very true. Loosing weight and getting in shape is easy, it just takes a lot of hard work.
