I took my 2 older sons (24 & 16) to the range yesterday and we enjoyed the HECK out of both... My Ed Brown Cobra Carry and my G19. Both functioned flawlessly and both were fun to shoot. I carry the Ed Brown as my Daily CCW but would have no issues carrying the G19 as well.

I like to shoot 1911s and Glocks in the same range session. The contrasts between the two very different guns keeps me mindful of the different reasons that I like both.

Glocks are simple and rugged. Spartan. Love 'em.

    1911s are just sooo classic.

I currently own several handguns, including a few 1911's. my current night stand gun is a colt lightweight government model, loaded with 230gr hst ammo.i keep 7 fully loaded mags, nearby. next to it is my sig 226 mk25 9mm loaded with 124gr hst ammo, I believe that if a person properly trains with a 1911,& keeps said weapon clean & properly lubed.the 1911 can,& should serve you well. just my 2 cents..
