It's a little screw/torx driver and they throw in an extra belt clip. The knife is apparently a special run just for SKD Tactical. The handle is the same as my 350, the blade is different. It does have a carbide glass-breaker on the butt end of the handle. SKD even requires that you acknowledge that carbide tip before they'll send you the knife.

Benchmade is my favorite production knife company. Although they only put out about 1 knife that I like per year. The ones I like, I love. Some of the greatest knives ever are BM. They make a lot of knives that I find really ugly and just don't like at all. And they discontinue some of the best. I wish they would stop effing around and listen to people. PAY ATTENTION BM

    1. Make a damn Ti framelock that has tip up carry. I don't know if this is for safety reasons, but they manufacture the Bradly Alias and that is tip up so WTF
    2. Go back to a REAL DLC not the crappy BK coating
    3. Stop discontinuing the good models

I will never purchase another BM knife ever after speaking with them at SHOT. I have an auto opener that was given to me while I was in the military. I broke the tip and asked them if I could send it in directly because two of the dealers in AZ I spoke with wouldn't send it in for me.

The girl gave me the run around citing federal law, etc... I then asked if they were so focused on the federal law then why do the allow dealers to sell them directly to civilians? According to what I have read there is no federal law regarding possession or ownership. It has to do with being on federal property as well as sending them via USPS. In Arizona we do not have knife restrictions so any adult may buy them and there are dozens of knife companies in AZ that sell them. They also need to tell their dealers that if someone brings a knife in (regardless of how/where it was purchased) they need to honor their dealer agreement and send the knife in for repair.

When I had my issue with my Microtech they promptly sent me an RMA and took care of.

Call Benchmade CS you talked to someone in Marketing at a trade show there to promote their product line. I have never had a bad experience with Benchmade CS nor heard of a bad experience.

I've actually got 2 on the way back to them right now. I called and talked prior to sending and the whole process has been smooth sailing thus far.

My personal experience with Benchmade has been outstanding. But it's personal and IG may not have the same experience and it's Benchmade's fault for losing that customer.

For me, this year at SHOT I took my Benchmade 740 over to their booth to be sharpened and to have "F2S CONSULTING LLC" engraved on the blade. Half way through the engraving process a nice gentlemen was enthusiastically watching the machine do its engraving function. At which point, he called his wife over to take a look. She believed that she need to get face to face with the machine, however, she was on a motorized scooter. She went full speed into the booth and cause the knife to shift inside the engraver. At the "L" in "CONSULTING" engraver began lasing on a different plane.

With this being a discontinued knife(and my favorite knife) I was a bit concerned. However, the girl behind the desk and I exchanged business cards, I contacted her on Monday and my knife is on its way to Benchmade to receive a brand new blade.

Maybe it was just a marketing person. But, this isn't my first attempt. I contacted them a year or so ago and was given the same bullshit which is why I sought out a dealer. When those two refused to do it I simply tossed it in the garage on the work bench. There was also an older gentleman nearby who was listening, who was giving me the stink eye while I was complaining. In any case though I am not going to purchase another BM product. Kind of sad since I have a half dozen or so of their stuff, mostly auto openers.
