Do u prefer capped or uncapped turrets?
I like capped and using holdovers for distance. I realize dialing it in is more accurate, but I gravitate towards speed and simplicity.
EDIT: My answer is in general, and not specific to the PST 1-4. I only have the PST 2.5-10x32, which is FFP. I imagine holdover is more difficult with the PST 1-4, as it has very fine stadia.

I agree with the above, I prefer holdover on a fighting rifle to adjustment, im not a sniper on a bipod

I have the uncapped with MRAD. I would have preferred capped with MOA but I got mine used for a deal I couldn't pass up. I don't fancy myself a sniper with a pod either and just use hold over.
I have one with the uncapped turrets which was also found via a deal, though I rarely touch the turrets, the shims that come with the scope make for pretty quick return to zero as the turrets are adjustable/resettable.
Same price I'd probably go with the capped turrets, but the uncapped ones rarely move even when dropped/bumped.
I selected capped turrets for my 1-4X PST because I wanted to use holdovers with it for quick shooting within ~600 yards. But, my need to go further has taken over and I am going to be moving up to a 2.5-10x scope for dialing distance and the 1-4x will go on the new rifle I am just starting to put together.
I bought an early uncapped MOA PST 1-4x for 3 gunning before the capped version was available - but if capped had been on the market at the time, that's certainly the one Id have bought. One time during a hectic rushing between stages, my windage turret moved a few clicks when I pulled my rifle out of my case - not good going into a long range stage! Since then I've taken to taping off the turrets, as I don't want that happening again. The beauty of this scope in particular (given the comprehensive reticle) is that you have an option of either using holds or dialing. For me, shooting 300m max the majority of the time (and many more shorter range stages), from generally hasty field positions and makeshift rests, I personally prefer to holds anyway.
For a more precision bench oriented shooter, the uncapped version may make more sense - but then again, I'd want to use a higher magnification scope would be better suited to that. I've always though uncapped turrets on a 1-4 a bit out of place really - as I see 1-4s as practical shooting scopes above all else. Uncapped make more sense to me on 2.5-10x and up.

Dan
I have been thinking of buying the vortex PST uncapped but after reading this thread I am reconsidering. You all make valid points. With an optic of such low power are the uncapped turrets really necessary. Thanks
Ditto - I had a turreted Viper PST and once it was zerod I never adjusted it again.
