I'll probably pick up one of the stocks to see what its all about but I can tell that grip would need a beavertail to even be in consideration for my grip.

I see that the 'dont build a rifle based on looks' sentiment has gone out the window itt. Folks writing of accessories from a reputable manufacturer based solely on looks. I'm failing to see the difference between buying parts based solely on looks and not buying for the same reason.

Now that is much better, Send it to them. I would consider your new stock, but the grip still has got to go.

    New Daniel Defense furniture.

It thought this forum was about function over form? For someone to chalk this up as a failure before even seeing one in person? Really?

    Talk about overreaction...

I spent a good hour at the DD booth yesterday talking to the guys and setting up some orders with Joe. I'll be honest from the pictures I saw online I was not expecting much, but once I actually handled the new product I didn't mind it at all, in fact I prefer it over the MOE and the A2 grip that used to come with the rifles. I think the majority of new DD rifle owners will be satisfied with the furniture enough that you won't see many switching the products out immediately, but at the same time I don't see many switching out their current stuff for the new DD offerings.

Bingo! It's an upgrade that doesn't appear to be jacking up the price, I don't think anyone cared for the A2 or MOE.

My DDM4V5 is fit as a fiddle with a BCM Gunfighter grip and a B5 Bravo stock. The vast majority of consumers are going to "customize" their guns after purchase. You can buy BCM rifles from Grant with no stock or handguards for this very reason, the money you save on the M4 or MOE stock and handguards goes toward the ones of your choice. A2 grips are a given considering they are so inexpensive and they'll be switched out by the end user anyway.

Nothing wrong with DD coming out with their own stocks and grips, I just don't see people lining up to buy them like I see with Magpul, BCM, B5, etc.

Hey, at least now people are reporting hands-on experience with the grips and stock. If they're unimpressive/marginal, that's fine. My only complaint was judging them solely on looks, without the hands on time to properly evaluate them.
