Bashing a product for looks makes you come across as an armchair quarterback on TOS looking to bash his buddies Airsoft rifle. If you haven't personally used it, for a while, just move on.

God bless guys, it's DD we're talking about here. I'm positive they wouldn't launch a product if they haven't first done homework such as drop tests, ergonomics, design changes, etc...and got industry professional feedback...they just wouldn't. DD doesn't run with gimmicks or fads.

Is it ugly, yup, does it matter...nope. Function always comes first, everything thereafter is just bonus or filler. Function first, everything else gets last place. So until feedback from the SME's, Moderators, forum users, etc start rolling in...just stop it with the laptop samurai BS.
A very good point. And my apologies for contributing to what you are talking about.

WTF were they thinking? I can't see any benefit this new furniture can bring to the table. Looks like something Sig would do, not DD.
Not sure about you guys, but I'm only here for the free food and open bar.

Seriously? It is a stock and grip. What earth shattering innovation are these items going to bring to the table so as not to simply choose furniture that does the same thing without looking terrible?

Does that grip have a integrated trigger guard?

If it does, DD is dead to me.

I'm not afraid to say that I wouldn't buy that stock based on looks alone. Here's why. I'm sure I could find another stock I wouldn't mind looking at that feels and functions just as good. There are way too many stock options out there today to settle on something you can't stand looking at.

If there was something ground breaking with this stock then I'd put up with the looks but I see nothing here.

It is integrated, but you could easily file it off and put in a magpul or regular trigger guard or replace the entire grip. They may have found a cheaper way to accessorize than magpul for a factory built rifle with the knowledge that most users swap out furniture to their likings anyways. I will inquire when I speak with them at there booth this week.

My guess is the demand for DD uppers will increase and the demand for complete rifles will decrease because of this, but considering BCMs recent innovation (KMR, extra lightweight fluted barrels), I think much of that demand will be going to BCM anyway.

So you are foregoing one of THE top AR manufacturers completely.....b/c of a plastic trigger guard? Smith and Wesson makes that stupid Taurus Judge facsimile but that doesn't stop me from loving their M&P handguns.
