Received my NFA stamp today but found an error

Today I received my Tax Stamp for my SBR but discovered an error in the application that the ATF didn't pick up.

On the application (and on the approved form) it reads "[My Name] Revocable Trust" but my Trust (and the etching on my receiver) is "[My Name] Revocable Living Trust"

That is, I screwed up and left the word "Living" off my application and unfortunately the ATF didn't catch my mistake and approved the application today.

I called the ATF and was transferred to the voice mail of the agent who approved the form. I hope to hear back from him soon about what I need to do to fix my screw up.

Anyone have any experience with an application that was approved with an error? Any idea on what the fix will be?

I just hope I don't have to start the whole process over again.

    Thanks and Semper fi.

    I would have ignored it.

I never use my full legal name, just first/last.

I imagine a lawyer can fix your trust name.

    Were it only that simple.
My receiver is already etched with the correct name (the one that is on the trust and the one I SHOULD have used on my application). And I have 7 more NFA items pending under that same trust.

This. One less non-issue to fix, one more NFA application approved today.

It is just a typo on your form. What do you think is going to happen? Nothing.

If it bothers you it is easily fixed without ATF help by fixing your receiver and adjusting your trust name to match the form.

Its no hard fix. My buddy is dealing with a typo right now where he didn't include the final digit in his serial number. . His Examiner had him send a pic of the correct info on the receiver and he's gonna update their system and generate a corrected Form.

    Thanks Wahoo.
Was your buddies stamp already issued (like mine) when they began the fix? Or are they updating an application that hasn't yet been granted?

I actually noticed the mistake when he showed me his newly received/ approved Form. ATF can be easy to work with....remember they really just wanted the tax money.
