I thought the same thing when I read that. If it's as awesome as it sounds though then I'm willing to overlook that.

    Exactly!
I was just ranting about this in the 1-4 thread. Glad to see USO is thinking the same thing.
Though it is not light weight at 20oz. The Z6i and K16i both weigh just under 17oz. If they keep the reticles offered in the SR8 then what will make or break this optic in my mind is field of view, eye relief, eye box and lack of radial distortion at 1x. If they nail those things, which essentially are where the SR8 over extends itself, then the weight can be forgiven and this would be an excellent carbine scope.

Take a look at Tangent Theta Scope (which if I'm tracking correctly is ATI, which bought out Premier) prices for a another shocker regarding affordability.

For me & I like most of the USO products generally albeit, they are robust & built heavy.

Why get 1 1x4 limited Mag range w/ that weight ?

    Why not go 1x6 / 1x8 for the added X ?

Why get the Elcan 1x3x9 & be limited w/ your Mags when there are better variables that are lighter ?

I don't have the issues w/ SR8c 1x8 that some are claiming. I shoot it weekly & sometimes more & I don't shill for them.
If you don't like it for your tastes or needs sell it & move on.
A NF 1x4 w/ more reticle choices, a better form factor (8.8") & weight (17 oz.) makes more sense to me, if I'm going all in on a 1x4....If you have already made the decision for durability / robustness vs the weight why settle on there limited MagX ?
After owning a few of the best MR variables I just can't see the justification for spending that kind of money for SR optic w/ a limited mag range is the bottom line. If I'm going to hump it in the field & risk my life or other's I protect, I want to justify every oz / gm & want all the bang for my buck.

I will not buy another 1x4 until one comes out that is as light than my accupoint at 14oz.

I'm interested if the eyebox is huge and it runs close to an Aimpoint on 1x. The weight is not an issue to me, as I rather have a more rigid and rugged scope that can handle .308 recoil or being dropped onto the ground when doing 3-gun or a class

Looks promising, may have to pick one of these up. Are delivery times available yet?

The USO 1-4 DFP was my absolutely favorite 1-4 reticle.
I spoke a little with USO, and it was my understanding that they combined the new illumination (really is almost Aimpoint-ish) with the DFP ring, which is absolutely killer.

That's really good news. I've sidelined my desire to get a another 1-4 until illumination is up to par, I know some of the higher Xs have it, but for what I need it to do x4 is fine.

Will post my findings on the optic in a few weeks when it's ready for pick up. Blue is another option rather than red.
