A buddy got me a nice TA31 ACOG 4X32 but all I can do is mount it on my carry handle type AR's at present as the saddle that adapts it to a flat top is not there. Anyone have a source for one ? - used AOK.

You want the factory TA51 mount or are you looking for an aftermarket QD mount? i had the standard mount of my TA01NSN but swapped it for a Larue mount months back. Both work for general purpose, I just got tired of rapping my knuckles on the knobs.Originally Posted by gew98

Not looking for 'factory'...just something serviceable to attach it to a flat top upper. I'm a no frills kinda fella - just has to work.

Cheapest I would trust would be the factory mount, which is simple, bit unless you would be going with another aftermarket quality mount, I would be leary of the quality of a mount that I haven't heard of before. I trust teh trij factory mount since it has a lot of combat experience, and i trust larue, ADM, and Bobro because of the experience of those on this board, as well as the fact I really don't know of anyone else making mounts for them. Would check the EE section and look around, I have seen factory mounts of those who took theirs off for sale for like $50 bucks.

Another question for you guys with experiance with ACOGs... I have it securely mounted on the carry handle...16 " 1//9 twist barrel. After 40 rds of M193 it shoots 14" high at 70 yards and I'm out of adjustment to drop bullet more. Am I doing something wrong maybe ?.
