15" MI SSG2 on 16" barrel with new Wolf Grey B5 furniture

Here's an old build I had made that's been waiting for some gray furniture so when I had a chance to get ahold of some of the new B5 Systems Wolf Grey stuff, I jumped on it. This same rifle used to wear a black B5 Bravo and UCWRG Grip23, so all that really changed was the color of the stock and grip:

This is one of my "beaters" so nothing special. It is getting a BAD-ASS-ST shortly (waiting in the mail).

    Stats:

    Upper:
PSA CHF 16" M4 profile upper with MI Gen 2 SS 15" rail (came with 12", which I sold and it paid perfectly for the 15")
Young Chrome M-16 N/M BCG (staked)
    BCM Gunfighter Mod 5
Samson fixed front and rear sights (with Trijicon post in front sight)
    YHM Steel Gas Block
    Generic gas tube
    A2 birdcage

    Lower:
Seekins Forged lower with Seekins trigger guard, Seekins mag button
Colt/LMT/DD detents pins, bolt catch, mag catch and springs
    Geissele SSA
Noveske STS-60 Right Hand Only (soon to be swapped for BAD-ASS-ST with short and short thin levers)
    Fortis QD Endplate
    Wolff SP buffer spring
    BCM buffer tube
B5 Systems Wolf Grey grip and Bravo stock

Good looking gun. I am a fan of the long handguards on short barrels.

Thanks, me too... I'm thinking of swapping it out for the new MI keymod 15"... No barrel nut change... 1 oz. lighter and I can use NSR rail panels on it (I think)...

Looks great! I can't find the Grip 23 in grey. Is that a pre-release version?
Before you suggest that licensing, background checks, or other restrictions for the 2nd Amendment are reasonable... Apply those same ideas to the 1st and 4th Amendments. Then tell me how reasonable they are.

This looks perfect. This barrel/handguard configuration is precisely what I plan to do with mine when I get the money. How's the weight/balance on this setup?

Weird, I never got any notifications of any replies to this thread.

I had to go through hell and high water to find one - it's B5 branded but is definitely a Grip 23.

Fantastic... It's one of my best handling/balanced rifles. I've since switched the SSG2 to a SSK 15" and the birdcage with a Wilson Combat Accu-Tac flash hider. It's much nicer now...

Thanks! Been waiting for someone to make decent gray furniture for a long time. I had to jump on my chance.

Thank you as well... I've done a bit of work to this rifle since posting it. I should take new pics and post them.

Is it gray polymer or is it something they are dyeing.
