    Hello 8kcab
If you are unhappy with the TA lower I'm pretty sure they will fix or replace it. I did have to do some filing on the lowers to get them to fit onto my uppers. I didn't mind this as it gave for a tight custom fit. If I change lowers I may have to file off some more polymer but I'm not worried about it. It's simple work. As you noticed, it did nothing to the color. I have 2 pink ones have fitted to uppers. They are future builds.IMGP3977.jpg

I just gave my daughter in law my last build with my original lower. This means I need to move ahead with my next build. I have a Rifle Green lower and a Field lower. I'm not sure which one I will do next.

I wanted to tell about a recent poor experience I had with TN Arms CO. I wanted to get 3 custom engraved lowers in 3 different colors. I had planned to just get all three done with American flags, but when I saw how they talked about their engraving process, I decided what the hell and sent in three custom designs based on my Unit when I retired from the Army. So here is my story, sorry it's so long.

On Oct 4th I placed an order for 3 polymer lowers and sent an image with each color receiver that I bought. Before the purchase I sent 2 emails to Dave. Along with the purchase I sent a message to seller on the purchase form that said, "If you don't think any of the engravings will turn out well, let's delete that receiver from the order. I'm only buying 3 because I couldn't decide what image I liked more. Thanks, Nick". I also immediately after the purchase I sent a 3rd email to Dave who the website says handles sales that read, "I was able to take a better picture of the circular coin and have included it in this email. Let me know if there are any concerns with the designs".

So I hear nothing back from 3 emails and the purchase form and think everything is going as planned. I get a notice saying that my receivers have shipped and I waited to go pick them up. When I picked up the receivers they looked like the engraving was done by hand. So when I got home and sent Dave another email that read,
    -
    Oct 13th - Dave,
    -
On Oct 4th after buying 3 receivers that I wanted custom engraved, I sent you an email asking you to let me know of any concerns with the designs. I also put it in the comment section of the order, "If you don't think any of the engravings will turn out well, let's delete that receiver from the order". On 2 of the receivers, there are letters in the design that are illegible. On the round design, my wife could not make out more than 2 words out of 7, and on the night stalkers don't quit design, The N in Night looks like a smudge and I have to shine a flashlight on it in order to make out the words in the top bar.

I had bought 3 of these so I could build 2 and give my brother the one I liked least. I really don't want something that anytime it is looked at, I have to explain it to people. I wish you had looked at my email and note to seller, because I clearly stated that if there are any issues to let me know.

Also, I picked you to buy my receivers from because you are a TN company and you offered engravings which I really wanted. The Airborne badge turned out good and I never would have imagined the other 2 turning out the way they did.

Let me know what needs to be done.

So I waited 3 days without reply and emailed JOHN who the website says handles Administration,
    -
OCT 16th, I have sent a few emails to Dave, dave@tac-llc.com and have yet to get a response. Here is the email that I sent, and reposted my email to Dave from above.

OCT 16th, Same day I received an email from John which said,

Hey Nick, This is John. I actually did the engraving. I didn't know there was a "tell me if you don't think you can do them" type of conversation (or lack of ) with Dave. The artwork was really hard to work with on those because they were pictures of pins that had a greyscale applied. When i tried to convert the grey to black and white , it lost a lot of clarity. The laser only reads black and white (on and off), so while the pictures you send did look good, they didn't convert well. When I saw how they worked with the original art, I went to google images and tried to find similar art, not in pin form. This was also difficult because some of the wording and the symbols couldn't be found. I have made small lettering work before , but usually when it's by itself. The Nylon doesn't actually vaporize when the laser hits it, rather it melts and burns it slightly, so a lot of the issue with yours was the edges running together because I couldn't make a clear design with the provided artwork. If you would like to find similar images on Google , with sharper lines, I will be more than happy to replace the engravings you weren't happy with. Just let me know how you would like to proceed.

So I am thinking Awesome, I get to get this fixed and I was very relieved.

So I reply with 2 new very simple designs,

    John,

Thanks for getting back to me. I would have never thought to email you because your website says Dave handles the sales.

I picked out 2 designs that I would be OK with. Doesn't matter which color lower they go on.

Next question is how to handle the return of the other 2 lowers. I have already paid $20 of a $40 transfer for these 2. I would imagine that these need to go back to the FFL and what will happen with the shipping fee? Also will I have to Pay $30 to pick them back up from the FFL, $10 background, $10 X 2 receivers?

Then TN Arms CO DISAPPEARED. I sent 6 ignored emails over a 10 day period with no reply. I say ignored because how do you miss 6 emails(just wait, they claim to miss them later). The last one that I sent started with, " What's going on? I sent my first reply to your email over 7 days ago?". I waited another 7 days and then filed a Credit Card Dispute. 2 Months followed without reply to me or to my credit card company. My thought was that it wasn't worth the return for them and just wrote it off as a wash, which is what I would have done being a business owner myself. Anyway they had custom engraving that were personal to me. Holy Hell was I wrong. I received a voice message from Hannah on Dec 21st. It said,

"""""Hello, This is Hannah from TN arms co. We have just received a letter for a charge back dispute, for your charge back to be completed we would need to have all 3 of our receivers back. If this matter is not appropriately fixed we will have to continue by speaking to Law Enforcement and we will contact the ATF as they are considered stolen firearms.

So this really pissed me off. They aren't stolen, I paid for them and my credit card company put a HOLD on the money. The funds never made it back into my checking account. I never called back because when it comes to business I like to have it either in text or email.

DEC 21st, I again emailed JOHN,

I just received a voice mail from your company basically calling me a thief and that you are going to call the Sheriff and the ATF. I had to file a dispute because you didn't respond to the 6 emails I sent you between Oct 20th - 29th after you sent me your response. It's actually Oct 20th - Dec 21st now. I don't think I should have to pay for return shipping when I did everything right from including a note on the invoice and sending an email to Dave "Sales" minutes after I paid for my order. If you want to finally respond, You can reply to my email I sent you 6 times that is below. Lets handle this like civilized human beings. I reposted the last above email.

    DEC 22nd John Replies,

We got the letter from the credit card company today. I apologize for not getting back to you on your last email. I forgot to respond, plain and simple. I get overloaded sometimes on returning emails and I probably thought I forwarded it to Hannah, so for that , I apologize. We would like to resolve this issue, as well. Don't take the voicemail the wrong way, but you have to see it from how we saw it. It looked like you got your money back and kept the lowers without arranging to have them returned which would be an issue.

No, you don't have to pay for return shipping if you're not satisfied with your order. I would rather get you fixed up on your engravings like I said before, your artwork was too hard to work with and I couldn't find anything comparable on Google Images, so I did the best I could with what I had, which is why I sent it. If you would like returns, it would depend on whether or not you have done a transfer yet on those lowers. If you have, we can mail the new lowers to you directly to you because the ATF considers it a repair. If you haven't had a transfer, we would have to mail them to the FFL for a background check. Let me know what you would like to do--be it return or replacement.

If a replacement is needed you will have to pay the lower cost back with no cost on the engravings (since that is the discrepancy), because you have been refunded by your CC company. It was not that we did not want to deal with you or make the order to your satisfaction, your email got lost in the system. It happens, rarely, but it happens, and I apologize. It was not our intention to threaten or intimidate. We wanted it clearly stated that the issue has to be resolved. With your card company disputing the charge, you are in possession of firearms that we have no payment for.

Again, it is our utmost priority for our customers to be satisfied. If any of this sounds acceptable, please let me know when you would like to proceed and I will have Hannah electronically send you or the FFL the lowers transferred to (if you did not take possession) a return label and to take a payment for the lowers with no charge for the engravings. You would send all images, preferably black & white or with little grey scale, to be engraved to me.

So after this I emailed John on Dec 22-

I would probably understand that if I didn't send 6 emails over a 10 day period. If you see it the way that I saw it, It looks like you guys don't care about a mistake you made. With all the time that has gone by, I though that you guys would have just chalked it as a loss, but I guess the credit card company is super slow.

I've lost much of my faith in TN ARMS so a return would be preferable to me. Also, I built one rifle and I don't know if I have all the right tools to take all the pins out. That may take a couple days to get done.

Also, I can understand if my engravings were too complicated. The sad thing is that all you had to do was read the invoice and let me know because I had other very simple designs ready to be sent. Now we have to deal with this headache.

-----But John will no longer rely to my emails, so I have to speak to Hannah which again kind of pissed me off because if it's her job I should have talked to her from the beginning.

So Long story short. I was finally able to return the 2 receivers that I hadn't already built up. I kept the 3rd out of convenience and they had offered no relief on the $40 I had already paid just for the transfer. I asked several times for a discount for the $20 I had to pay extra to transfer the 2 that were just ugly, but it's against their policy. To show my integrity, Tennessee Arms co never replied to the Credit Card dispute within the 60 days and let it expire. If I wanted to I could have kept the money and the receivers. They threatened me with Law Enforcement and the ATF, but with a receipt and won CC dispute, at best all they could have done was driven the 373 miles and taken me to small claims court in my county of TN where the purchase was made.

So in total, this all ended up costing me $83 total and a big hassle.

This isn't a Post about product functionality, It is a Post about a huge Lack of Customer Service and or Customer/Military Loyalty.

I'll post pics of the 2 engraved receivers I sent back soon

Thanks for your time. Hopefully I wrote this as a legible series of events,
    Nick

I included a picture of the receiver that I had already built up and since I had already paid $40 for the transfer, I didn't want to return all three and have nothing to show for it. This engraving isn't the best, but it was the simplest of the 3 and has a weird outline that is visible on 1/2 of the engraving and not visible on the other. So there are parts that are engraved that you have to look up close to see it has even been done.

Sounds like a horror story, especially with that kind of threat.

With that being the case, how does your complete rifle operate? Has the receiver held up?

Not that I would want to take a risk with them, but wondering if for 83$ your single lower makes up for the lost time/money at all.

No actual experience shooting it. I have so many other firearms. I built it on the cheap because I had actually planned to hang it on the wall as a display piece until I saw the engravings. Although I don't care much for the company, I doubt there will be any issue with only firing .223 with it.

Well that sucks, they have always been quick to respond to any email or phone call. Hopefully it gets straightened out for you.

I can report on about 1000 rounds of durability on my lower I built up. So far so good, it just fits a little tight onto my BCM upper.

I didn't have any luck getting them to answer emails either. I think they answer the phone though.

Dang, sounds like a sketchy operation they have going there.
