Just noticed non blem uppers are now 109$ on the site Guessing out with the old in with the new.

Right after I bedded up my barrel Guess it's down to removing it soon and picking up a new BCM upper whenever they hit the site.

Just like V7 releasing their new 7075 receiver extension the day I staked mine. All these companies are releasing good stuff right when many of us are finishing builds
From TOS ... "buy the shit out of that thing, all the mil spec is just nonsense."

What Grant said is "This receiver will not include the BCM logo etched on the receiver..." This logo may be applied differently -- I don't have an older BCM to compare it to.

This looks like it's laser engraved--just like before (but maybe it is just painted). C4's has no marking, but it was probably a prototype.

I suspect that the stripped uppers will not be marked so that they can tell the difference between a home built gun and a factory built gun like the one pictured above.

Correct. Here is how it goes. You are an AR "manufacturer" and buy your "common" parts from an OEM manufacturer. You take what they give you and if you find problems with their products, you probably won't get any more. OEM manufacturers don't like it when you advise them that their parts are "out of spec" and will advise you that "no one else is complaining."

The reason that "no one else" is complaining is twofold. They either don't want cut off for parts (so never reject anything) OR they don't do any QC in house and just assume that the parts they are being sent are "good to go."

This problem is WIDE spread throughout the AR "manufacturer" world (on many different levels). In another thread, I will talk about GB's and why you should ONLY be buying BCM GB's.
