    Grant, in all seriousness, when you say that BCM is having these machined to their spec, does that mean that they are getting these as a raw forging and essentially manufacturing these uppers from scratch?

    Yes. They order the forging then take them to a machine shop that they can control and have them machined to their specs. Then, they do their QC in house.

    it's nice to see a company already known for being top notch quality to go out there and say that they want to improve and do something about it. i'm definitely interested in hearing what your opinion is on their gas block vs that of the other ones out there (especially from other well regarded manufacturers)

    No kidding, non-blem uppers are down to $99 on BCM's site.

    Looking forward to your thread on BCM gas blocks. I've always used them due to their ground finish and nice tight fit to the barrel.
