    Grant,

Is this color now part of Arcteryx LEAF collection? Never seen it before.

I own the jacket in the below pic and love this color. So much so that we are working on a Cerakote color to match it!

Grant officially sucks for making our wallets even lighter. Now I have another jacket to buy lol.

Thanks for posting that tho. First time I've seen that as I'm not really current on the new clothes ordeal.

    Yes.

Here is a pic of their "urban wolf" color and the BCM we cerakoted. Pretty close match.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

Are these "trend" colors or do they actually perform some tactical obscuring in a certain environment.
    Both maybe. Plus it's new.

Standing around in an urban environment with an AR isn't blending in. And I would think if you were in some sort of "sneaking around an urban environment at night" type of thing (be realistic with yourself), I would think movement would give away your position more than whatever shade of grey or black you have on.

Same deal with any other color, or why the civilian in a carbine class comes decked out in multicam stuff. If people think it looks cool, they'll buy it.

Aesthetically I am digging the whole grey/black thing though.

Browsing Arc'Teryx's website, I don't see much except for the theta AR in moonshade, but there are a couple of other colors that are close. Nothing on the LEAF site. A bunch of different shades of grey in this years commercial products though. "Iron Anvil" looks like it would be a match for the HSP carbine.

Thanks for the pic Shao. I was curious about Magpul's grey compared to the B5.

And here's a newsflash too: the blackest of black rifles are, in fact, some shade of gray. True black doesn't appear in nature (that I know of) outside of black holes.

Perhaps someone has a combat story about how the "blackness" of their firearm/gear "gave away" someone's position, but for the most part this is about a new cool-guy color trend. NTTAWWT, but no need to fret over your "unstealthy" black gear.

I've liked gray (american spelling!) ever since I saw it on the Jack Carbine, but I generally buy black polymer stuff since I thought it was the strongest (though that's probably an outdated notion); most of my gun stuff is black since I'm not gonna be doing a lot of desert or jungle or anywhere stuff--though most of my belt pouches and the molle belt is coyote since it looked more casual and less tactical-ish to me.
"Grey" has that not-too-tactical-ish look too, so I'm definitely into these colors (I just think we should all agree to call it gray and leave the other spelling to "operatErs").
Thanks for guinea-pigging your gun, grant!

Yeah, I looked at the LEAF site too and all I see is Wolf. I have several Arcteryx LEAF Wolf garments and really like the color.

I would agree it is similar to the HSP Jack Carbine.
