We tested Stealth Gray for a few years prior to release and it is very close to the venerable Sniper Gray paint color and the newer Wolf Gray clothing.

In darker light Stealth Gray looks almost black, in daylight it looks more like Charcoal. When a Stealth Gray stock is put on a Wolf Gray swatch under the same light, it matches well.

My only issue with the MagPul Stealth Gray is availability. Once available, I plan on switching my Patrol Rifle's furniture from black to Stealth Gray.

I work in an inter-city environment with lighting conditions that covers daylight and darkness.

I prefer lighter colors like FDE for the sole reason that they keep the gun cool in the sun. Black guns left in the sun after shooting get goddamned searingly hot.

Someone recently did just that... I think it was V6A but can't remember. Night Viz... the black stuck out like a sore thumb. Most urban environments are anything but natural though just to reconsider context. Black may not appear in nature but it does in an urban environment. But... there is still probably a lot more grey no matter what... shadows, metals, etc..

@Grant your rifle looks good... to me that looks more like fog. Like maybe it has some green in it. Toyota will love those light greys though... they have been offering that B5 grey match in their interior cloth forever.

it seems manufacturers are just getting around to acknowledge the significance of the phrase "gray man"...

I've been torn on what color I want my AR (yes, I only have one...poor person here) to be. I'm torn between a dark brown or a gray. Any idea of what would be a good "all around" color? I'm going to get it Cerakote'd and I'm wondering what would be a good color to have my rifle painted...

I'm still going to maintain that most black rifles are actually a very dark shade of gray. So there.

Obviously there is a tactical argument to be made for camoflauge. How relevant that is for most firearms owners is anyone's guess.

It depends on the black. Blacks are very deep shades of other colors actually, such as blue or green or red, etc

Ive been desiring gray furniture and finishes for years. Where I live in the N.E. magpul's tan is too light in color. We have plenty of dark brown but nothing naturally tan. OD green works great except that half of the year (winter) there is nothing green anywhere. A lot of the bark on hardwood tree's is completely gray...and that doesnt change with the season. Until gray became the fashion craze of 2014 ive had to settle with foliage as ive found it to be the most subtle of the color options.

Living in Texas, I can wholeheartedly agree with this. It didn't take long before I switched from black to FDE furniture in order to keep from melting my face off in the summer.

I'm digging the grays, and I'm not a trendy guy in the least. But I hate all the different shades of supposedly the same color from different manufacturers. Even FDE, which should be standardized by now, looks different from different manufacturers. That's one reason I hate SCAR's in FDE. Four colors on one factory rifle. I suppose in of itself, that would be a four tone factory camo.
