Nice build. I'm in the process of building something similar but I'm going to run a 1-6. Right now I'm waiting on the 15"KMR. Have you got the KMR yet? I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on it.
I feel like an idiot. Yes, I got my KMR 13 inch several months ago. I am now using an SLR rifleworks Sentry 7 adjustable gas block as well.
I have been extremely pleased with the rifle and it has caused another local buddy to assemble a similar light weight build. Even with the adjustable gas block, there is just no replacement for the smoothness of the rifle length gas system.

That's good to hear. How do you like the KMR? Any new pics you can share with us? I can't wait to get mine up and running.
Funny, I actually came across this thread looking for user feed back on the 18" rainier mountain series barrel and you just happened to have already built almost the same rifle I had planned.
I too went with the KMR 13 and the Rainier Arms Mountain barrel in 18". I only have about 100 rounds through the barrel. I am getting about 1.6 MOA out of it so far. I was able to hit a ⅔ size silhouette steel target out to 600 yards with some consistency. However, I was far more consistent with a JP LPR07 in .308 at that range. Then again, that is a very different rifle. At this point, I would think that if you truly want precision, you would need to look at a different barrel. If you want a light and fairly respectable preforming rifle, the combo is nice.
I am very happy with the weight and over all performance. I might change out the scope to a 1-4 or a 1-6 on this build.
Side note.. The rifle length buffer system did not lock back the bolt on last round until I got about 40 rounds down the pipe. All works well now. (I am using a BCM A2 stock, Bolt and BCG.) According to Rainier Arms the gas port size was made for a carbine length buffer system.

That's really nice!
Thank you. It's simple and it cycles nearly like a 3 gun rig, but with ZERO compromise as to reliability. Running the A5H2 buffer with the Sentry 7 and it is truly sweet. With the rifle length gas system, I've found two things: 1) there is very little difference in gun movement or felt recoil between mouse fart .223 practice loads and full house 5.56 pressure M193 and M855 loads.... and 2) the gun movement and felt recoil of full house 5.56 pressure loads is ridiculously mild even in a relatively lightweight build such as this.
I've done some work inside of residential structures and it is still usable. When things get real tight, like in a trailer, I just short stock it.
But the vast majority of my deployments are outdoors. For me, the concept has proven to be sound.
