I have the 9" AAC upper. The first one I got had to be immediately sent back to AAC and replaced because the chamber was screwed up out of the box. It was shaving part of the jacket off of the bullet. The second one they sent me has been awesome.

I've only put 1,100 rounds through it but the chamber and bore still looks new.

I think as long as you get a barrel from a quality manufacturer and it is gassed correctly you will be happy.

I know 300 BLK is low pressure but I'm putting one in a Leonidas. Barrel swaps aren't an easy option on an integral.

Which barrel will be the most durable? both noveske and rainier ultra match are stainless. AAC is cold hammer forged, nitrided 4150 cmv. The rainier select has polygonal rifling in stainless.

So is this an argument for AAC ? Hammer forged is supposed to be tough right?

Or rainier select (polygonal 416R stainless steel ) instead of ultramatch (button stainless)?

I'm leaning Rainier. Is there any reason to avoid and look elsewhere?

    Correction, direct quote from AAC:

"Our barrels are not cold hammer forged

They are button rifled with a 1:7 twist and 5R rifling. They are also nitrided."

I'm going to the range today with my new 300 BLK.

I wanted an AAC upper or complet gun but could not find a 9". They don't list the 9" gun on their site anymore. The upper is listed but out of stock. I built a 8.%" Noveske. Did they discontinue the 9"?

I expect to be happy with the results

Did this gun ever get made? Interesting to know how it shoots. My gunsmith just ordered me the WC 11.3" barrel today.

I think AAC got out of selling 300BLK barrels/uppers/rifles all together. Why nobody else sells 9" is a mystery to me. Maybe it's to pair better with common handgaurd lengths.
