I know that $9.25 is not the best price but being that Q3131 is sometimes hard to find I went ahead and ordered a "few" boxes.

Get it before it's gone.

Tactical Defense Solutions also has it for $9.50 per box.

Interestingly, TDS states in the description that Q3131a and Q3131 are no different, and that the bullets are exactly the same.

Well. Yes... maybe the bullets are the same. But the 3131a and 3131 that I've shot are far from the same. And the last 2 boxes I bought at a retailer for curiosity were nasty. Mixed headstamps, somewhat dirty looking (which doesn't bother me if it runs like XM193), and I had 1 unexplained FTE out of the 2 boxes I tried.

I don't trust 3131 at all.

We have issued Q3131 (a) as our duty ammo for years and it has worked very well for us... That being said, we recently (last 6 months) received a bad lot that was tarnished with mixed head stamps and some misaligned bullets with cracked casings...

We pulled the entire lot from service and returned it to Winchester for replacement... The new Q3131 we received back was perfect with bright shiny cases and matching new production head stamps...

I looked like a surplus component run of ammo for sure.
