Correct, it is not but it does screw snug into the slot and is very lightweight.

I drew up an Atlas KeyMod mount, but honestly not sure there's enough market for it.

For one, it wouldn't be QD. And seeing as how most people like to use a single (expensive) bipod on multiple rifles, it wouldn't be that popular.

Picatinny plus Atlas QD version still seems the best.

I think at this time, you're probably right. Just looking at my guns... I only have two KMR rails right now. If at some time down the road Keymod is the standard, I think a direct attach atlas would be more popular.

I remember hearing everything will have a QD keymod attachment available, whole reason for going keymod was to bolt everything direct.

I could go for a direct-attach method over QD to keep things lower profile. I don't guess it really matters one way or another, but it would be nice for an Atlas setup to have a lower profile versus stacking numerous components to get to the same place. I'm using the sling stud on an NSR for a Harris, and am pleased with that setup.

For me... I'd end up having to raise the legs if it got too much shorter. A bipod is a tough one... since some guys leave them on a gun, some guys don't, etc. I mean... my Bolt gun pod stays on all the time, but my ARs definitely do NOT.... only when shooting precision groups or really long range.

New mounts and stuff are just starting to reach retailers and shooters, the direct attach pod will be one of the final pieces of the system to be necessary.

I don't disagree with any of that, but I always seem to be shooting uphill or down so I just really like low profile because I regularly have to adjust legs anyhow.
