I too am enjoying their products, aswell as several others posting in this thread:

Thanks for adding it all up, I had planned on doing the same once the forward assist comes in.

Which set of pins did you get, titanium or aluminum alloy?

Glad someone with credentials is going to give their stuff a go.

Corrosion resistance is a feature of these parts that has not received much attention, but I realize it may well be the biggest benefit of the V7 parts to those who operate in salt water environments.

Weights of most v7 parts already in the other v7 thread. Also thread is updated constantly about stuff being released etc.

Outstanding thread. I was actually just on the phone with V7's office manager, a very pleasant lady who is a shooter as well. You know it's a solid operation when you can talk metallurgy, gas port diameters, and optic choices with the office manager. Solid company.

The release of the forward assist should be VERY soon......they are a small company, but they devote an inordinate amount of time to R&D and testing/vetting products prior to release for a company their size.

I'll have the mag release, port door rod, and forward assist in my hands quite soon. I'm very pleased so far. I'd rather shave ounces this way than buy some magnesium lower.

The inconel gas tube is an interesting concept, though expensive. I would have liked to see how it fated in their vid under the same FA conditions. Has anyone tried it?

There's another company out there, Green Mountain Defense, that has their own gas tube that is either made out of Inconel or is nitrided, and they got very good results out of it. In fact, the tube was still intact without any deformation after firing over 1,000 rounds through it using 30-rd mags on full auto. They have some video on their website:

I would like to see an AR with no un-nitrided carbon steel in it, as close to corrosion proof as you can get.

I do not think I will ever be at a level where I will see the cost benefit of a $37 lightweight port door or $20something castle nut or pins. I thought they were out their for the crazy pricey titanium FA, but all of the money and effort towards parts that I have never seen fail is beyond me.

These parts are NOT meant to relace parts that fail. They are meant to replace parts that do NOT fail. That is the point. Cut all the weight from stuff that won't effect durability. And trust me, it all adds up. Complete 16in carbine with 14in rail, afg, light, and scope, 110oz. LIGHT! around 89-90oz without scope, light and afg.
