To me right now the weight reduction is not worth the price, BUT that may change given the rifle I am going to build for my wife.

At this time my biggest interest in V7 is the apparent quality AND corrosion resistance.

    Keep up the good work!

This too has been floating in my mind the past few days.

For what it's worth, i have never had a FA not rust on me inside the ridges of the button. This FA means that will never happen again.

    ^true.
My thoughts were a little more imaginary though. -- nitrided LPK,FCG, barrel nut, even the gas block, taper pin and barrel post drilling and reaming for the taper pin. Like i said, imaginary.

I agree, .3 oz over the dust cover and other misc. is pushing the limits of gimmick in my book.

I would like to see V7 offer (2) versions of their mag release with the second one using a titanium stud in place of the aluminum one.

As for the dust cover, I was interested in the polymer ones used by HK but they are too pricey for me.

I would like to see is spreadsheet showing mil spec vs v7 weight and cost comparison. I am willing to pay for weight reduction but halving the weight of small parts may not get you a lot of bang for the buck! If they could make a 3 1/2" flash hider that weighed 2oz I would probably pay $250 an oz for it but I wouldn't pay that for weight reduction in the middle of the CG. GH

I fix that by hitting new parts with Norell's Moly Kote.
My brother saw Deliverance and bought a Bow. I saw Deliverance and bought an AR-15.

I yearn for the good old 20 lb tacticool ARs that I used to see the kids at the range drool over.

Okay, I've had about 1000 lancer awm magazine insertions and extractions on the V7 mag catch and the finish hasn't even begun to wear yet. There were a few marks that rubbed off with my finger.

The magazine was loaded with 28 rounds for each rep so pressure was applied on the catch upon release.

The awm's collar around the top of the magazine is steel. So I'm gonna call this good to go.
