    Philippino M-16 Mags?

An opportunity arose for some M-16 magazines from the Philippines. They appear to be Mass complaint and are under $10.00 a pop. I was wondering if any of the sage members here had any experience with these whatsoever... As I posted on NES, cheap mags that suck are....cheap mags that suck. Any experience with M-16 mags from the Philippines out there? Thanks much...

Brand new Brownells mags are around $18 each: http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/Sto...l.aspx?p=21225

Brand new PMags are around $15 each: http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/sto...MER%20MAGAZINE

Why would you even consider buying three magazines that may have already been drugged through the jungles and used countless times when you can buy two great magazines for the same price?

WELL.. just get the Philippine mags. and if you can purchase new springs and follower, you can recondition them. if it's used... most of them will have weak springs. unable to load last 1 or 2 rounds.

I'm not even sure I'll buy any - am finding plenty of pre-ban USGI mags, (thanks to all). There's a group buy potentially happening on a regional site I belong to with these mags going for 8-bucks a pop. I figured if they were USGI contract, or at least as good, they may be worth picking up....I've been out of the game so long that I didn't even know the Philippines made M-16 magazines and wondered if they would be worth grabbing a few.

What is the law about repairing mags? If you can replace the body, spring, and follower then buy the cheapest mags you can and replace the parts. New mag!

well... I thought you coudnt' get it bec of the state which you live in.

if you can get new usgi contract mags, they should be better.
or why don't you get those pmags. they're just 15$ or brownells mags. 5 good mags is better than 10 cheap ones.

Yeah, that's just it. I would be buying a truckload of P-Mags if I could, but Mass law forbids it. Trying to decipher Mass gun law is an exercise in the insane...Essentially, the AWB is still in effect. I can buy all the pre-ban USGI/Commercial mags I want - no worries. I can also buy new USGI 30 round mags as "rebuild kits", but I have to make sure that I am using them as "legit" mag repair...No laws on the books about magazine parts in Massachusetts - parts it parts. The whole game changes however, if I were to buy P-Mags as parts kits and rebuild them as stand alone. Essentially, if I have a USGI pre-ban 30 and it goes belly up, I have to replace the parts with USGI parts, (new, used or otherwise)...It whacked out man - whacked out...
