I'll need to get more time behind it with full sunlight, but my range faces east west and gives any optic or iron sight issues in the afternoon when the sun is setting. With a scope, I have to have a really long sunshade or use my hand to shield the sun for a better sight picture. For red dot of this nature, an ARD would probably help. If you have the dot set to the correct brightness for sunny shooting, I still don't think it would be an issue to the point of obscuring your target. If it is, you are using it incorrectly for a red dot. You should be focused on the target not the dot. If you are focused on the target, with both eyes open, the center of the lobster/spaceship is still the dot so your eye would center it correctly I would think just like it does with an eotech reticle.

Kinda hard to do that when the spaceship looking thing covers up the entire fov. The pics don't show the actual size of it. When it actually happens there is alot more glare along with a red tinge.

well, if you are unhappy with the optic; there is always the option to sell it and buy a different one!
I'm sure there is a member on here who would gladly buy that Aimpoint from you!

That's not the problem, I love my T1. Like I said in my previous post, that's why they made qd mounts. If i ever run into the problem again in a real life scenario I know I still have my irons.

Seems like a simple matter of geometry. The tube just isn't long enough on the micro to effectively act as a shield from stray reflections. Has anyone tried an ARD on the thing to see if that alleviates the issue. Unless you're shooting at the sun, in which case I doubt that you'd see much anyway an ARD might minimize light entering the tube and causing the wierd reflections.

I also forgot to mention that when my target was completely obscured by the anomaly I was shooting at 200 yards. When I moved in closer to 100 it was no longer a real problem.

That's funny, I never had the problem with my pro. I guess the sun has to be aligned a certain way when it hits the optic in order to experience it. Oh well
