I would believe that block was just poor quality.
This is exactly what happens. I've seen it many times when customers would bring me guns that "stopped working". Loose gas block (no dimple, no Loctite) stopped operating as a semi and went single shot.

Not true...I purposely did this (gas block was 90 degrees off) and it just created a single shot AR...used a Vltor clamp LPGB, DD clamp LBGB and a Sadlak set screw LPGB. All survived 20 rounds of true M855 (not "XM855").

OP: Although it says "steel" on the website, check it with a magnet to make sure it's steel. I've seen some gas blocks that have the same profile as steel but are actually made of aluminum...imported from China. If it is steel, it could be just junk steel (and probably from China) or already had some sort of a defect (bad machining, material defect). I've received emails from Chinese manufacturers peddling this kind of garbage (they make nearly every AR part you can think of so if you see prices that are "too good to be true", they're probably these low quality parts from China....so beware of low end vendors like Karri's)

The gasblock didn't explode because it blocked the gasport, it exploded because it's a piece of junk. If simply blocking the gasport would cause the gasblock to explode, adjustable gasblocks would be unusable

Per the rules of the community you should've contacted the manufacturer to attempt to sort out the issue before disclosing their name here.

I never mentioned their name in the original post. Only after I was asked in a later post.

Hey can you check your gas block with a magnet to make sure it's steel? I'm just curious...

In theory, yes, when it comes to quality manufacturers but nobody gives a rat's ass when it's a junk peddler.

Material failure. This is the kind of thing that happens when you buy from a vendor of questionable reputation. I strongly suggest getting rid of any parts that you may have purchased from them, but definitely try to get a refund before you do so.

The fact that you got called out on this in the past does not give you the authority to start calling others out on it, especially when you are not contributing anything else to the thread. You actually broke another forum rule just by making your post (rule # 6 - trolling).
