Trying to keep it on Topic, looking at the MSDS for FireClean, apparently they like keeping a lot of their information close the the chest. No evaporation point data listed. Then again that might have to do with the fact that it leaves an easy to clean film behind so it is never considered to be evaporated.

I'd really like for this thread to stay on topic, lots of firsthand accounts and lubricants that I'd never heard of like Weapon Shield make it a decent place to look for answers. Hopefully it doesn't get closed. I'd also like to thank all that have contributed, I actually got some good answers and info.

Bumping this to the top. Saw these comparisons last night as I was browsing YouTube. These are NOT my videos, and they are only a sample of the lubes that are discussed in this thread, but I found the results interesting. This only confirmed my decision to use FC even more. Worth the watch!

I would have embedded these but every time I do it messes up...

It's FireClean from now on -- No longer much of a choice for me, I finally cleaned one of my SBR's (12.5") that is primarily shot suppressed and after well over 1,000 rounds it just wiped clean with a simple paper towel. Not only that, but subjectively speaking the upper appeared to have much less wear (no that I could actually see it) than other rifles I have, particularly in the area in which the cam pin rotates. I am very pleased with the results.

I have a 4 oz. container of Frog Lube. I am trying to find someone locally that wants free Frog Lube.

I am sure that it is a fine lubricant, but I will stick with what has worked for me over the past 35 years.

Speaking of lubrication, over the last few years I purchased several BCMs and they came with SLIP. Over the last month or two I purchased two, and the one I received earlier this week didn't come with any. Anybody else got one in the last couple weeks that didn't come with any? I don't mind but was curious if this was an indication that BCM was going to switch brands.
