Interesting. Would the 9mm post do the job? I just read you mentioned there is one for the 6720 from an older thread ( tall tapered ) but I haven't found one other than Shrubmaster

That's like the one I ordered, I got the DPMS front post that's .030" taller than the standard post from Midway USA...should work out fine.

I would order a Colt 9 mm post. I think that is the same one that is used on fix handle carbines but I don't know if they are the same part number.

Colt does not make and has never made a tall square tapered 4 notch post.

The following uses a tall round 5 notch post:

    XM177E1
    XM177E2
    SP1 Carbine
653 and all other 600 series 5.56mm carbines and commandos

The following uses a tall square, non-tapered 4 notch post:

    6520/6530/6420/6320 fix handle carbines
700 series fixed handled 5.56 carbines and commandos such as a 727 or 733

I don't know why a 6720 doesn't come with a tall post. I should come with one given it doesn't have an F marked FSB.

For sure, that was the only disappointing thing with the rifle that I've found. It's almost as weird as the new AR15A4's coming without F marked FSBs, kind of disappointing.

I think this is the one

I have no affiliation with them, link for educational purposes. I have shopped there for some high dollar items and was always taken care of.

ETA looks like Brownells might have the proper part too.

    Good luck
I just received my Brownells order that was supposed to include that tapered carbine front sight post but they sent me a standard front sight post in a bag marked with the part number for the tapered carbine front sight post instead.

I wish I would have ordered it from Specialized Armament.

Colt does not make the tapered short square post anymore.
