    2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs

OK hockey fans. Final day of the regular season, playoff match ups are taking shape. It's time to pick your teams.

My Blackhawks did not close out the season well, lost 2 games they should have won, even without starters. At least we drew the Blues in the first round, I think we have a better shot at them than the Avs. The Wild will have to deal with them.

So, who are our teams and predictions. Playoff hockey right around the corner.

    Let's have at it!

Im hoping the Sharks can get past the Kings in the first round, that will go to 7 games and will be an amazing hard hitting series.

Im calling Red wings over the Bruins. Yes another presidents cup winner out in round 1
    Tampa over Montreal
    Pittsburg over Columbus
    Philly over New York
    Avs over Wild
    Blackhawk over Blues
    Anaheim over Dallas
    Sharks over L.A.

Yeah... My Stars are in, but Anaheim has had our number for years. I'm hoping for an April miracle but it's not something I'm holding my breath for.

    GO JACKETS!!!!
I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion.

    Indeed!

Only the second time they've ever qualified. I'd hoped for a better first round match up but hey--can't win em' all

I'm cheering for my homestate Wild...they ended the season fairly strong, especially their last few games (beat both St. Louis & Pittsburgh). They're a young, talented team.

I think the Sharks/LA series will be good. 2 hard hitting teams. We'll see if San Jose can get any post season mojo going on.

Chicago has played pretty well against STL this season but if they don't tighten up on D and get Crawdaddy and Rantaa to stop giving up the soft goal it's going to be a real short post season.

My wife is from Minnesota and we still have family up there and while I'll pull for the Wild I don't think they have enough for the Avs. Maybe they can beat them up a little though.

I just saw on ESPN.com that one of their hockey columnists picked the Wild over the Avs, due to our 4 out of 5 wins going into the playoffs and the Avs playoff inexperience. That helps give me a little more hope that we can get past the 1st round.

I could live with the Wild putting the Avs on the trailer. That would be nice. The Wild are a good team, they are just a couple pieces short of being a finals threat.
