Thanks for the clarification Duane. I guess I'll continue to stock up on colored mags while they are still available.
Kinda surprising given literally everyone at work who uses PMAGs (myself included) strictly use the FDE ones.
Fair enough point on just painting them, but I'm surprised the FDE ones don't warrant being continued. They're extremely popular in the military.
Interestingly enough the largest retailer of Magpul magazines in Jacksonville has rarely had anything but the black mags.
When they do have FDE, OD or Foliage they price them 20% higher than the black mags.
Although I love my FDE mags, I just can't justify paying 20% more on the rare occasion that I can actually find some.
I would assume that if all colors were available at equal levels of inventory and price then the demand for FDE would be close to black.

It seems to me like a logic failure. Gen 3 Pmags only come in black, so colored Pmag sales are down. Who wants to buy magazines that the company markets as inferior? I have only bought enough Gen 3 Pmags to get by for now because I have been waiting for colored Gen 3 Pmags since the Gen 3 Pmags were introduced in 2012. To make a decision based on sales today is asinine. The question that should be asked before colored Pmags are discontinued is how were sales of colored vs black Pmags before Gen 3 was announced? I don't know anyone who was buying black back then unless there was a shortage of FDE.

A mag's a mag is a mag. If a mag holds ammo and functions reliably, what else does one really need? Does it really need to match your underwear?
