The royalty-free license of M-LOK offers protection to the system over an open-source system. M-LOK participants sign an enforceable agreement that they will adhere to the TDP in order to reduce market confusion and ensure the compatibility across manufacturers and platforms. If they deviate from that, it isn't M-LOK and they cannot brand, market, or sell it as such. Although the nuts might lock in to slots that are not to spec or not even intended for M-LOK (I made some fit on an Apex .308 hand guard, for example), we monitor, test, and work to assure the compliance of M-LOK participants and assist them if they have any issues.

I hear what you are saying brother, but nothing ensures quality like the free market. If a company is not following the TDP and (accessories don't fit), the customer will be verbal all over the net and the consumer will shy away from that company (either for M-LOK or KeyMod).

How tight do you tighten the little bolts? The Magpul SHOT '14 video I saw showed a gently turn of a wrench. Maybe 1# tq.
Was this just for demonstration purposes, or is this the actual amount of torque? Does one use LocTite when they are happy with where it is like you would on anything else with a screw that you don't want falling off the weapon in 1500 rounds or so?
TORQUE SPECS
• For attaching metal accessories to metal hand guards: 35 in/lbs
• For attaching polymer or metal accessories to polymer hand guards: 15 in/lbs
• For attaching polymer accessories to metal hand guards: 15 in/lbs
All of our screws are nylon patched as well. The recoil lugs are there for a reason, so M-LOK parts aren't really relying on the nuts and screws for anything other than keeping the accessory against the M-LOK surface.
We made a fairly comprehensive FAQ that covers M-LOK in depth if you want to check it out.

ALG released an updated M-LOK EMR today, FWIW.

I just called ALG and spoke with a rep. I was told that the rail hasn't changed. The rep even put me on hold to confirm with someone else.
I just figured the news of any changes to the rail hadn't made its way down the ladder. ALG is a good company, IMHO.
