Understood. I completely dismissed the hole spacing variable. I may bring one in just to fiddle with and see. The whole notion of bolting on a rail to attach a AFG to my KMR is counterintuitive. I'm running a arisaka finger stop currently but on a shorter upper receiver < 12.5 the angle does not play nice with my wrist.

The hardware to try it is <$10 so what do you have to lose. That was my thought playing with the IWC light mount...

There is more to a properly designed KeyMod accessory than the screw and nut. Same with MP.

Understood. There's still a place for "that'll work" too though. In my case the IWC is moving to my coyote rifle and my arisaka mount is moving to my HD rifle. The coyote rifle just isn't that critical to require a purpose built mount when $5 worth of nuts and bolts will suffice...

Just curious, but using Magpul's included patch of "locker" on the threads, has anyone shot MLOK accessories/mounts/lights/etc. loose yet? I have heard plenty of complaints about this with Keymod.

Sample of one, but I have an Arson Machine 1" ring light mount on an ALG V1 that hasn't moved since I installed it. Hundreds of rounds later, banging around on a sling and tossed on the ground hasn't moved it. I even whacked the light pretty hard on a tree, didn't budge.

Not yet. I was curious about the connection's inherent capability, so I'm running it just hand torqued with a 3" Allen wrench. I'll add some loctite later after my experiment is over with. I also have a Magpul MLOK QD Sling Attachment I'm testing in a similar manner, but it came with some yellow thread lock on it, so I'm pretty confident in it.

Thanks! It's the first upper I've built myself. Thoroughly impressed so far with all the components.
