Thumbs down Easter weekend; 45 people shot in Chiraq

Well it looks like the President's adopted hometown had another memorable holiday weekend . . .

    How Chicago Became ‘Chiraq’

FBI Director James Comey happened to be in Chicago the following Monday, and he ascribed much of the violence to the gang culture so deeply ingrained in the city. But Comey had little to say about what Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy recognizes as the core problem.

Until we do something about guns, don’t expect things to change overnight,” McCarthy said at a press conference that same day.

McCarthy noted that Chicago cops have seized 1,500 illegal guns so far this year, but the people caught with the weapons are all too often back on the street all too soon.

“It’s like running on a hamster wheel,” McCarthy said of the effort to grapple with the problem. “We’re drinking from a fire hose, seizing these guns, and people are back out on the street. They’re not learning that carrying a firearm is going to have a serious impact on their lives.”
That's right chief, don't do anything about criminals or the criminal culture that is rampant in your city, oh no lets focus on those inanimate objects that you all already have so many laws and restrictions on . . .

We need to build more federal prisons for felons who are caught with an illegal gun. Federal law (18 U.S.C. sec. 922 & 924) says up to 10 years for being a prohibited person caught with a gun. Richmond cut its murder rate in half during the late 90s when they turned these cases over to the Feds.

Nobody deserves to live in a place like that...run by leaders that think like that.

I don't know how some of you do it and keep your sanity.

It is nothing short of blatant pandering to those that are the source of the problem. Completely and totally inexcusable. As we continue to read tripe like this from that POS chief who represents the most logically twisted among us holding positions of power the frustrations continue to build.

What annoys the crap out of me is that a law enforcement position, like the chief of police, has been bastardized into a political position where allegiance is to a political hack as opposed to the law. Similar to how a judge is a Republican or a Democrat instead of a judge who will uphold the law, regardless of political opinion.

Hold PEOPLE accountable for what they do. You're illegally in possession of a gun? You should go to jail. Last I checked, inanimate objects have no free will. But we can't do that because then the free shit army can't vote for the kenyan corporal.

I wonder if any of those shootings involved CCW holders defending themselves from criminals.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

I'll bet not one was a legal gun let alone a CCW holder.

My point is they fold those numbers into their "gun violence" statistics, effectively using cases of lawful defense to promote the need for gun restrictions.

Tracking. I knew where you were going. The same way they lump suicides into firearm deaths. But on the other side of the issue, I'll wager not one gun used in those shootings was legally obtained or possessed. The issue is the revolving door jail and how criminals are not severely punished. But hey, let's not confuse the issue with facts.

Chicago Chief McCarthy came from the NYPD. He wasn't exactly loved by the troops there either. There has also been a couple of NY scandals involving him you can Google. One in
particular on the NJ Palisades Pkwy involving his out of control daughter who called daddy. Drunk daddy responds with drunk mommy and all get locked up or something. He is an arrogant dickhead.
