Not that I plan on getting one... But throw a piston upper on it and build a sort of strange M14/AR love child. Might actually be cool.
Considering this uses a proprietary bcg, that likely won't be possible unless someone decides to get really creative.

It won't be long before you can add a gas piston to this rifle. We're currently machining bolt carriers with integral impact lug and the articulating strut that is designed for the ARES SCR. This will be an addition to our GXR gas piston retrofit kit product line and can be installed with no gunsmithing required. Carriers should be back from heat treat and coating within 2 weeks and product offering should be available then. We'll keep you posted.

1.5" extreme spread 5-round group at 100 yards from a 1:9 lightweight chrome bore on "not my best day of shooting" is not too bad...

We've been getting steady requests for gas piston compatibility with the ARES SCR rifles, so we're bringing a kit to market that will fall within our patented GXR Gas Piston Retrofit Kit product line and that will readily install in about 10 minutes with no gunsmithing required. The GXR kit is carbine length and is compatible with many handguards including the Daniel Defense Gas Piston Omega Rail, Midwest Industries Drop In carbine handguard, Magpul MOE, Diamondhead rail systems, Bravo Company Keymod to name a few.

These GXR kits will be available within the next 2 weeks. In the meantime, here's a sneak peek from part of an endurance test of the ARES SCR with an ARES Defense GXR gas piston retrofit kit installed for any of the piston fans in the crowd. Enjoy!

So-loose the forward assist and charge handle, add a side charger and in 6.8? maybe a folder?

Here's what the optional iron sights look like for the ARES SCR. They're billet machined aluminum with steel hardware where expected and are installed in minutes with no gunsmithing required. Rear sight is attached by a single screw and is windage adjustable. Front sight clamps arount the low profile gas block, is elevation adjustable and incorporates a front sling swivel. They sit approximately 3/4" lower than standard AR sights for proper cheek weld and will co-witness with an Aimpoint T1 or H1 micro sight on factory low mount.

Do you guys offer a higher comb stock for scope use? Any plans for other calibers such as 300 BO or 6.8? Reference the sights, I guess one could use the lower height flips if using a FF tube with variable optic.
