    Local Honey and Alergies??

Any truth to the rumor that eating local honey will "cure" alergies?
I very very rarely use any type of sweetner, but if this works I would be willing to start.

Yes, I believe there is some validity to it. But it is not an overnight fix. I have had terrible allergies my entire life. About 4 years ago I began eating local honey on a regular (mostly daily) basis. The past 2 years I can tell a huge difference.

I tried it last season. Between my neti pot and that I found that I did suffer from my usual post nasal drip issues nor did I have to take as much allegra. I ride a bike at work so I am out in the pollen on a regular basis. Give it a try.

Try it. It'll taste good while you do.
But I never felt any relief. (Plus I'd end up making Mead so not like that was any better)

I tried a few allergy meds and found Loratidine works best on me w/o turning me into a dopey zombie. I also sinus rinse once or twice a week with a baby nasal bulb with salt water. That clears congestion and also stimulates the tear ducts to rinse & clear the eyes.

You gotta figure out your pattern though.

Cedar Pollen is enough to drive me to the brink.
I'm hoping this helps a bit.
    Thanks

It certainly won't hurt you. Won't help your allergies, but won't cause any damage other than a mild dent in your wallet.

I'm allergic to tree pollen and gave this a try ONE time and never again. I seriously almost had to go to the hospital it was that bad. My throat closed up and I could barely get air for a good half hour. Never again. So if you do try it proceed with caution.

I've significantly mitigated my allergies by drinking iced cardamom tea. I buy this one http://www.amazon.com/Ahmad-Tea-Lond.../dp/B004XTDENE and for a gallon of tea I boil the water and add 4 or 5 of these tea bags and 4 or 5 decaf green tea bags and steep it for an hour or so. It's refreshing and the effect is VERY noticeable, almost completely cured from lifelong nasal allergies that would sometimes have me going through a box of kleenexes a day even after taking multiple antihistamines.
