Stolen Valor type questions

I have a lady friend who is seeing this supposed Army MSgt. He's 39 years old and says he is in Delta Force. She told me that he is going to be commissioning into the Navy soon. I'm pretty positive that something like that is either rare as shit or not even probable. I'm under the impression that the Navy has age limits for that sort of thing and no one I have ever heard say they were "Delta Force" actually was.

I'm trying to get this guy's name from her, but she isn't giving it to me. This sort of thing makes my blood boil. Strange thing is that she met this guy at a GoRuck event and the cadre there seemed to know him.

I know a Navy captain who commissioned in his fifties...but he was a brain surgeon or something of that nature.

The guy your lady friend is seeing is probably not even in the army. Army Special Forces is really easy to call out. Tell her to ask him to name one of the gates leading into Bragg, or the name of the airfield.

Even better, tell her you two will be at MacDill checking some stuff out and tell him to meet you there.

Well, if your alarm bell is going off, and her's isn't - it's most likely that she already doesn't care if he is or not. All you can do is honestly advise that you have reservations about the story he's telling her, and after that, she's a big girl and you get to tell her "I told you so" when she realizes he's not the man he's making out like he is...until you get a name and find a way to verify it. Most of the guys I know who are SPECOPS don't mention they are SPECOPS...

Tell her to ask him the date for his commissioning ceremony so she can go...
