For some reason Colts are on sale, on line, Wal-Mart, gun stores....... not many places I've seen them marked down.

We don't recommend companies like Colt, BCM, and Daniel Defense because we're snobs. They are proven companies that make rifles that meet the standard. We only try to help out. Some can come on a little strong, but we all mean well.
In my parts Walmart doesn't sell guns .......nice find .

That said on paper my stag seems good ?

Most retail stores sell the bushmaster and other entry guns . Not the $2000 guns .
And a lot of you build your own 2nd gun. So I can be believed the top five guns list.

This isn't a thread to justify your individual purchase. Do so elsewhere.

If the rest of the country is anything like the area where I live (CO), the best selling AR's during the first half of 2013 were anything that happened to still be on the shelf.

.......$800 shipped read all good reviews but got flamed here by the die hards.
Not saying this is the best AR but for my needs it should work .

Ya I know %20 more or $200 I could of had a colt .(did not want the front sight post. 1-4 scope )

Sorry stag arms model 3 ( plus pk) Forgot to say this .
What fits YOUR needs is up to you decide. Where most people fail at though, is that they don't know one AR from another. The other issue with online reviews is how did you "VET" the users of the other STAG AR''s? Were they:

    1. Well known firearms instructors?
    2. Well known competition shooters?
    3. Well known armorers?
    4. Well known training students that shoot 10k a year or more?

From my experience of having been on gun forums since the early days (90's), this is the common scenario; "My new AR (brand XYZ) is AWESOME. I have had it for 6 months now and every round has been FLAWLESS!" People read this and think that this is a quality review. It is not. If people asked this poster the round count, they would hear a number (like 150) that would make them ignore everything they just said.

When buying a firearm (that you may either bet your life on or re-sell in times of hardship), ALWAYS stick with brands that have a substantial following. Why? Because they are more than likely a much better quality AR AND will command a higher re-sale value.

Last, but not least, the FSB does not get in the way of a scope. It just appears as a blury spot at the VERY BOTTOM of the scope on 4X.

Yea I got into it about the same "reviews" on another forum. The question was about some Taurus revolver (not the judge). One guy says he's had one for 30 years and it's never failed him and he doesn't understand all the negativity certain people have towards the company. When I asked how much does he shoot it and the type of ammo he uses he got all pissed and others came to his side. When I tried to explain that having a gun for 30 years doesn't mean it was used much, it only means it belonged to you that long. Long story short I was told to stfu unless I have personal experience with said revolver. Whatever!

All normal. What people really struggle with is that not all opinions are created equal (though they want them to be). Just because you spent your hard earned money on something doesn't automatically make it "good."

    Bingo!

I was on another forum where you were arguing about this very same thing, S&W ARs. This was a few years ago. I tried to help but it hard to shout over all those screaming about the whatever R rifling and TDP being the lowest, cheapest gov contact.
