And like C4IGrant said, "the general owner might shoot 0-500 rounds a year"... I know a few that also bought the cheapest ammo they could find, might (might not) have sighted it in and don't even own close to 500 rounds. ???
Well, to be fair, ammo is too damn expensive right now. One of the negative side-effects to the massive increase in gun sales since Obummer became gunsalesman-in-chief, is that the demand for ammo is very high.

As much as I would like to shoot at least once a month, it's too expensive right now. Right now I probably shoot 2-3 times a year, and that's it.

I find it hard to believe that the Carbon 15 isn't the best selling AR right now. Major retailers (Cabbalas, Sportsman's Warehouse, Bass Pro, etc.) have them on sale CONSTANTLY.

From what I sell, I see a lot of what is on the list. Living in Minnesota, everyone wants a DPMS, thinking that they are still built in St. Cloud. We get DD and some BCM, a good amount of Colt, but these rarely sell anything over $1200 compared to $800 Rifles. We tell most of our customers what we like, they always opt for the cheaper rifle though. Mostly guys in early to late 20's who can't wait to get one. They just don't see the problems of a "Cheaper" rifle like I do at our range. I would agree with C4IGrant, most people only shoot around 500rds per year if that.
I perfer black coffee in the morning, bourbon in evenings and spending money on sh*t I probably don't need.

I cannot tell you how many people come into my store, buy a gun and then a year later I see them again and ask how their gun shoots and they advise that they haven't even taken it out of the box yet.

Does it make me an AR snob if I find the word "Sportical" off putting?

And they come back in the store?

Weird...are they like the people who buy things from Home Shopping Network and the unopened boxes of stuff just pile up in their garage?

That's kind of relative, isn't it?

Compared to prices ten years ago?
    Five years ago?
    Three years ago?

    gunbot.net is our friend.

With the advent of Wolff "Gold" and other such decent target/range ammo...I'm pretty ok with prices...well, relatively speaking.

It's an absolute for me. Disposable income is the concern.

That`s crazy, I tear the box open as the delivery driver is standing there. He`s learned to step back though so he doesn`t get hit with card board...
