This is one of those are you F*cking with me articles.

Red Jacket and Mossberg are teaming up. Who thinks this will boost Red Jacket's credibility or will it diminish Mossberg?

It'll sell. The average gun store patron will buy it if they saw it on TV or read about it in Guns and Ammo and it's new. I can't tell you how many people still ask me about Kel Tec PMR 30s because of articles with titles like "The ultimate self defense pistol?" I don't think it will do anything for either company's long term reputation.

This is good news, they could have teamed up with an important firearms manufacturer and really screwed things up.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

I watched the Red Jacket show (Sons of Guns?) the other day for the first time. Looks like they are just another run of the mill "assembler" that uses cheaply made parts and have the "parts are parts" mindset.

The good news is that they are doing a .300 Blackout—which, by the way, is one of the best names for a round from a marketing standpoint—which I think shows that the cartridge is gaining some traction beyond the initial adopters. Should please those who have taken to it.
