I am now decided on the Enhanced Lightweight barrel

But not sure now if I wan to pay the extra $30 for the ELW Fluted version over the ELW 9non fluted)

These different options kill me!!! Arrrgghhh
If the $30 will delay the purchase of another part for your build, just get the ELW. If not, get the fluted.

No not delay, I just like knowing exactly what I'm buying and all the benefits it yield prior to pulling the trigger is all.

Just a thorough buyer when I'm dropping this kind of cash is all.

Very little weight reduction, like .032 ounces, for the $30 in machining.
I don't see it being worth it, unless you like to brag or like the bling.

Agreed. If/when BCM makes an ELW 17"/17.5"/18" ELW barrel with rifle length gas system, I'm not going to spring for the flutes. I'd rather put that $30 toward a quality AGB.

It might be more of a difference if you were planning on doing a titanium gas block and titanium flash hider. I could see things start to add up, especially if you had already planned on a lighter weight free float tube.

Nope ... not gonna pay money to brag ... and I am not trying to build a massive LW rig and squeezing every oz. I can out of it.

I'm gonna stick with the standard ELW and pass on the flutes.

It can be a little help to offset the weight of a can if you're running one.

Very true.......those interested in building an ultra-lightweight will benefit.

Newbie here, getting into AR's so appreciate any help!

I'm looking to buy my first AR15, and am a small person and prefer a lighter rifle. I've been shooting some Daniel Defense rifles, but am attracted to the lighter weight and better trigger of the BCM Recce ELW KMR mk2 rifles which I am thinking about buying.

Are there any downsides to these light weight rifles? My local shop said I might "feel the recoil more." Any thoughts?

    Thanks!
    Barb
