I've had a Gov profile 14.5 middy that dropped poi 4 MOA... so keep in mind... whatever we find, it'll be an example of one. You know what I mean?

No idea. Grant and I had an exchange I think in that huge thread. after accounting for accessories weight my 11.5"LW was still 5oz heavier than his 14.5" ELW.
They don't make a 11.5"ELW last I checked. But I'd be curious what the weights are. Iraqgunz told me to sell my 11.5" "before the disappointment becomes too great" because I wasn't blown away by the KMRs weight like everyone else. But if the 14.5" ELW is lighter than the11.5" LW that definitely would explain why.

We got that ELW all suited up for testing. Going to run mini 4 and M42k cans. Check poi.

POI shift. Very reasonable for a light weight set up.

Not a bad shift at all. Will have my own 14.5" ELW with a 13" KMR on Tuesday, very exciting.

After we finished testing I popped the aimpoint back on. It ran super smooth with AAC brake and I am still amazed a gun with a can can be so light. Most of my rigs are heavy duty, I don't carry them 8 hrs a day, so this has been an interesting exercise in AR's.

Hey markm,
Just to confirm I'm reading the results right: that's 2-3 moa at 100 yards?
Is it also fair to say that a lighter can would affect that less?
This is correct. But the other important point is it was consistent. We ran the test twice and we shot very quickly and got same results. But with or without the can, it maintained POI. So if you ran the can all the time, your dope could would be consistent. Take the can off and it will shoot a couple inches high.
For a pencil barrel, I was surprised. The mini 4 can only causing 2 moa shift on 14.5 is very reasonable. For a red dot gun, Ill take it. I get about 1 inch on my Noveske 14.5 which is quite stout.
